About Me I’m nothing special- that’s for damn sure; but I know that there are people in my life who would disagree, and a few of them might even slap me for even thinking something like that. But it’s true; I’m just a girl from small-town Illinois trying to make her dreams come true. You see I’m an aspiring writer- and I’ve been writing since I was about 10 years old- in fact I wrote my first poem with my very best friend and we called it “My Pain”. And back in 2011 I got a poem published by the World Poetry Movement called “You Are Beautiful”, where it now resides in their book “Stars in Our Hearts: Dreams”, then in early 2012, they told me that they’d be publishing another poem of mine named “Mind Games” in a book called “Best Poets and Poems of 2011”. My dream is to one day being published with my own book- and I hope that I can make that dream a reality. My writing is definitely something that I feel very passionate about, and no matter what happens, I never want to stop.
Another thing that I’m very passionate is about is keeping snakes- I know that it isn’t the most practical hobby for a 17 year old girl, nor is it a normal one; though when it comes to me normal isn’t really a word that most people would use. Though it is definitely a hobby that I get many dirty looks for, and sometimes, people stop talking to me and being my friend because of it- I guess a lot of people fear snakes- but each friend that I lose because of my babies is another person who doesn’t belong in my life. My snakes- though many people may fear them are a lot more to me than pets- they’re my children; I feed them, care for them, but them things, I love them, and take them to nice places- they’re truly like my children. I haven’t always kept snakes, in fact I started on August 21st, 2011- I know the exact day, because that’s the same day that I got my very first snake Lord Lestat de Lioncourt- named after the vampire Lestat from the Ann Rice novel; he’s a Corn Snake that I bought at Something’s Fishy in Fox Lake, Illinois. I’ve had quite a few this year to be honest, Lestat being my gateway; October 1st, 2012 I went to my very first reptile expo where Koi the Corn Snake came home with me, and in March of 2012 she escaped and is now thought to be dead sadly; December 18th 2011, Beauty and the Beast, two other Corn Snakes- though Beauty passed away from abuse he suffered with his previous owner on July 5th, 2012; then came Sasu a Ball Python on Mother’s Day 2012; and on July 7th, 2012 the newest addition to my family came home with me Toge the Ball Python, she’s a little wonder to have around. Honestly when it comes to me I couldn’t begin to tell you a damn thing- because all that I am is made up of my writing, the people I love, the people who love me, and some random badass-ness that makes me up as a whole. So… stick around and see what I’m made of. |
