After years of freelance writing for various indie print publications, web-zines, and blogs, I'm currently working on my first fiction novel - a punk rock, anti-coming of age novel tentatively titled, The Enthusiast.

In my opinion, I believe most artists (writers included) don't take enough chances. Collectively we don't take enough chances or push enough boundaries. We don't trust our audiences enough to challenge them with pushed boundaries. We don't trust ourselves enough to leave our personal comfort zones. Instead of writing the same feel good story again and again, why don't we write OUR OWN story in OUR OWN words. It may not fall in line with everything we've been fed before, but that' what makes it special.

It's up to each of us to find that unique story and tell it, regardless of whether or not it's pretty and clean, palatable, and easily consumed. It's our duty to craft our own personal tale of truth and share it unashamed with the whole world.

We all have a great story in us, each and every one of us. And it deserves to be told.
