About Me

Adamus was born in 1964 in Brookline, Massachusetts. He became interested in magic when, at an early age, his mother told him she was a witch. He continued his training in magic and shamanism with a mysterious Crone Priestess known only as Leylah.

His first book, Tellstones: Divination in the Welsh Tradition, was written at the request of his students. In this book, Adamus has reconstructed a modern form of this obscure ancient tool he says is more socially acceptable than augury with animal entrails and quite a bit less messy.

His second book, The Phoenix and the Dragon, was written as an attempt at tidiness.

His fourth book has the improbable title of Yom Kippur as Manifest in an Approaching Dorsal Fin. It may be the only religious book on Judaism that includes sharks. it was about time.

His fifth book is the children's picture book Bud the Spud. With three separate endings, there is something in Bud to offend or horrify everyone. Kids love it. Pediatricians love it. Nutritionists love it. Fox News hates it. What more could one want?

His sixth book is Songs from the Well, on grief and dying and continuing on. Written after the death of his wife, it follows the years of growth, loss and continuance in poetry, essays and creative nonfiction.

His seventh book, Rhiannon and Pwyll needs an illustrator.

Adamus is an award winning poet whose work has appeared in a number of books and magazines you have never heard of and his essays can be found in many places you have never read. He is also well known for numerous childrens' works you haven't read and is a frequent guest in elementary school classrooms where he can be found amid the children, being begged to read Bud the Spud just one more time until discovered by the teacher.

He started reading his poetry in public when another poet called him dope and, thinking this was an insult, went to show him a thing or two. Still self-conscious, he next read his works at a clothing-optional fundraiser. Once having read his own poetry, in public, naked, having nothing else to fear, he now reads for you. Sometimes even with clothes on.

At present, he may be called "Dr. Script" as he works on films in front and, mostly, behind the camera.

In the Mundane world, he is Adam Byrn Tritt, has bunch of degrees, lots of initials after his name, manages to hold a responsible job teaching your children, works with vets with PTSD, and lives in Palm Bay, Florida with his dingo and a ridiculously large alligator under a very big tree.

Hahaha... your bio is cracking me up! Thanks for your comments on my acrostics article. Maybe one day I will be a master of writing... I write songs more than poetry, stories, or articles. Best to you...
