About Me
Even before my first spelling lesson, I was a story teller. At the age of four, I told my mother that God put us here to entertain him and that's what I intended to do. When my vocabulary was limited, I created my stories with pages upon pages of detailed drawings. As my vocabulary grew, I began to leave my drawings behind. I still paint and create a large variety of works in different media, and they are always narrative. However, I focus more on my writing.
My works tend to focus on women that I feel reflect some part of me or some part of who I used to be. I do really enjoy writing what I feel are subtle horror stories, because it's very cathartic. Nothing clears your subconcious of demons like putting those demons onto paper. However, I don't write gore. What I feel is more scary than blood and violence, are the things we dare not face in ourselves. That's what I try to reflect with my writing.
I have also been working on fantasy novel since I was thirteen. You would think it would be huge by now, but it isn't. As I grow and mature in life, my writing style changes. So, I always wind up going back and revising all that I've written. It's a life's work and I'm okay with that. It's not going to be something I create overnight, but when it is finished I will be ultimately satisfied.
When I'm not writing, I'm enjoying my life as a single, working mother. I have two lovely daughters, Madeleine and Penelope. They are impossible for anyone not to fall in love with. I have a fun job working with numbers and wacky co-workers. I have an active social life and a family that I'm very close to. I am a North Florida native and I still live here. I'm proud to.
