A Poem by Amanda Avalon

The clock strikes twelve

I let out a yell

Just ring the bell
Send the naysayers straight to hell

We stand like two pillars
Shaky and tall like trees
Amidst a monkey's sea
Needling a purpose to believe

I cast out a net and made a catch
This year's crop seems better than

Last year's meager batch
I've slid open the latch
And all the canned worms begin to hatch
