A Poem by Amanda Avalon
"

This is dedicated to the victims, associates, families and bystanders of the Chicago Old Navy shooting tragedy that happened this morning.

"

I absorb these tragedies
Out-of-body experienced
Sponge-like
Seep through my pores
As she writhes on the floor
Tell me not to cry
For those who've died
As blocked heart chakras
Deny

Can't explain
Why
Bullets splayed
Flowers in the rain
As we wonder
Would have
Should have
Could have
They're so close to me, yet
We've never even met.

I admire you for being the first to write a poem about that event, but I would lose the "sponge" and "pores," though.

I can't believe how the killer was able to walk around that area and right into Old Navy with a semi-automatic machine gun.
