Open BookA Poem by Sirius KingOpen BookOpen Book
I am an open book But only a few readers Will ever understand my contents
Within me is a coded language Of poetically expressed pain And confusing, complex concepts
There’s rage in every page And laughter in every chapter Multiple story-linesIntertwined All headed for a wonderful disaster
Where heroes and villains battle, But the “good guy” doesn’t always winWhere success is a fairytale And failure becomes a friend
Where every character is an actor And my life becomes the stage Where the reader is pushed off a cliff Every time they turn a page It will make you laugh And indeed, some scenes Will surely make you cry But I guarantee, It’s worth the read Just give it a try
It’s plain on the outside Without much appeal or color But the inside, Will be sure to surprise So don’t judge this book by its cover
