Dancing In The Rain

Dancing In The Rain

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Dancing in the rain,
my two best friends.

The rain is pouring down,
the sky is crying.

The thunder is crackling,
the sky is screaming.

The lightning is flashing,
the sky is bleeding.

Dancing in the rain,
my two best friends,
and I? I conceal a tear.

The best part about this is that it's not even raining right now...lol.
Oh, what do you think of this whole only capitalize the lines at the beginning of the sentences? My English teacher taught it to us last year, but I'm just now trying it out.
Thoughts?

There's a different set of rules to each type of poetry. Poetry is something like a limerick or anything with verse, meter, stanzas etc.
What you have written is not poetry, it's prose, and as such does not require a capitol letter at the beginning of each line. Prose is any non-conforming type of literature that conveys an idea. Having said all that most 'poets' will throw all the rules out the window and say "that's what makes me a poet". Don't let people bring you down over rules, the words are beautiful, and truly with prose that's all that matters.
I've got an idea for how to make the final image of this really pop, if interested, let me know :)

Really love this. It has a lot of action in it with the storm and the dancing and comes to a rather mysterious ending. But over all wonderful write.

I was reading this and thinking, this is good, but it needs to pop at the end. Then there was the last line:
"and I? I conceal a tear."
And I thought 'wow that really got to me'.
Excelent job! I plan to read more of your work.
