Two Black Cats

Two Black Cats

A Poem by Maxine

Two black cats
Went out to play.
They didn't come back.
Same story, different days.
Both had white patches,
Small paws, big ears,
long whiskers,
not enough fears.
They never came back
From hunting that day,
How they were killed,
I cannot say.
I only know
I loved them both.
I miss them both
I needed them both.
Two black cats
went out to see
The world and life.
Now they're both free.

I really think that the repetition towards the end convey's the sadness of the situation. I would also like to say sorry for your loss. As a double cat owner, I know how close the connection with a pet can be.
