Be Very Careful

Verse 1

Someday tears can be laughter

And pain can be relief

If there is darkness in your life

All of it might turn into light

Someday prayers can be answered

If you just wait a while

But you should be somewhat cautious

Be aware of what you wish for

I'm not trying to control you

I'm only trying to be a friend

What I tell you is reliable

It will help you in the end

Verse 2

Someday losses can be wins

Only if you play the game right

And as you encounter fear

Courage will help you prevail

Someday problems can lead to solutions

And everything is at ease

But some things aren't definite

So you have to keep on trying

Some people that you meet will be your friends

Others will continue to pretend

They'll have no support to lend

Verse 3

Someday screams can be chants

Of a song stuck in your mind

You will not be interrupted

Your ballad will be heard

Someday rags can turn into riches

And you will be more self-assured

Your efforts to reach success

Prove that you have passed the test

When you set out to do something

You sometimes get side-tracked

But that's no reason to quit

You'll eventually learn from your mistakes

Chorus

Be very careful today

There's so much I have to tell you

Be very careful today

Time always seems to slip away

If you choose to listen to me

You can cast sorrow away

But if you don't give heed at this moment

You'll only have yourself to blame

I really enjoyed these simple but comforting words. It was like a grandparent departing their life-long knowledge to the favourite grandchild - it also reminded me of a spoken-word song that was a bit pop hit in 1998 by Baz Luhrmann, "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) - thats the voice I had in my head departing the knowledge. :D

I loved the metaphor - "Your ballad will be heard"

Someday rages can turn into riches - the typo 'rages' instead of 'rags' is a minor glitch in an otherwise smooth ride.
Very enjoyable ghaw
