In the dark depths of night their radar sings
Vampire Birds take flight upon cool looking wings
seeking insect meals, to devour their living flesh
or the blood of breathing creatures, only warm and fresh
or some feed upon the fruit we find tasty and sweet
in each Vampire Bird a cool wicked shape and heartbeat
As a child I watched their flights many nights in awe
sweeping about, wings flashing like black lightning, fangs like claws
a few times they dive bombed me and my sister, quite a scare for a child
within these cool creatures beats souls like the heart of the forests wild
Vampire birds, the wicked image taken for true vampires weaved in tales
their haunting of the silver screen stretches on through time like ebony sails
these birds of the night eclipse the day birds like the moon eclipsing the sun
Vampire Birds night song must echo on, their flight upon razor swept wings never undone.
