Elsie Brown was a bonny lass; She was both bright and gay. She wore pink ribbons in her hair; Her lovely eyes were grey.
Malcolm Greene was a sturdy lad; He plough’d and till’d the land. He rode out to see Elsie Brown, And ask’d her for her hand.
Great was the joy upon the day When rang their wedding bell. Sweet Elsie was a fine, good wife, To Malcolm of the dell. © 2018 Debbie BarryAuthor's Note
