Oh who can say what they would do if the winds had only blown them to distant shores. I wrote this of the dreams of another life not lived. I do not believe we are only able to love one person in life. I think there are thousands whom we might fall in love with if the time and place were right. It is the fates that leads us to our destiny. And this is just a thought on how life could be different if the winds had blown the opposite direction.

You, my dear, are a hopeless romantic; and I love it! It seems you like women as well as love them, this is a very desirable trait in the male of the species, and all too rare.
I believe you are correct, actually, I know you are correct, you can love more than one person. (Hopefully, not at the same time. LOL)
Your poetry never gets old, Tate. The meanings, the emotions, and the precision of the syllable count are evidence of your skill. I don't think I've ever read a bad poem by you. :)
Well done, Mr. Morgan!
"The witted banter of close friends
then came the music swaying crowds
As dreams of love that never ends
on high the heaven’s streaming clouds"
(Ah, I love these four lines, they are a poem unto themselves.) --- And true, some winds are soft and gentle, others becoming gusty-intruders on a life of solitude, then dust devils, tornados, then back to a winters chilling breeze. (Hmm?) They are like that box of Chocolates.

JE Thank you. Being a hopeless romantic it doesn’t take a lot to get me going
And I think, dear friend, that Byron's ghost paid you a visit. Right off, I saw the reference to She Walks in Beauty.
"The smiles that win, the tints that glow/Do but tell of days in goodness spent/A mind at peace with all below."
You would have fit in well among the great Masters. You have their mindset and gift for language. Beautiful poem. Would have been great for Valentine's Day.

this is one of those poems that make me pause in ponder of the possibilities of your poetic premise placed perfectly pon the page! I agree I think the possibilities of passion are endless one wrong step or one right exit and who knows what would or could unfold?
Just remembering a good relationship can bring the 'winds of salvation'. But if the winds had blown in the opposite direction, would you still have been as good a poet? And I like it that you have rhymed 'salvation', with 'creation'.

Thank you I have had probably twice as much bad as good I learn from it though
you got two places in my competition but I had already marked my categories most funny yours was not funny but absolutely brilliant so just letting you know thanks so much for your 2 entries. loved them
Two words- "what" and "if"- seemingly non-threatening words in the English language when placed together-" What if?" have the potential to haunt one for a lifetime. But what if we never wondered about the what ifs, would life have remained as tantalizing a delight as it has been? Love and the route of its fulfilment will perhaps be always trifled with the "what ifs" and "oh wells". I guess that makes the ride all the more exciting.
Tater Chip! I love this...It's just oozing sweet love off the screen and flowing over..The questions that float in the mind, warm the soul and snuggle within the heart. Ahhhh life.

So I was a bit surprised when I heard her speak. I called Lucy in County Down Ireland. I asked her how it is that this woman voice and diction so clearly matched her own when lucy is from Ireland? She said I was the only one other than a few friends who noticed the slight difference in her diction. The reason for this was that she spent 9 years in the same town that Jaye Rusby grew up in England.

I watched as she descended stairs
and dreamed the world was none but gay
With her my life had lost the cares
where we would dance the night away
These are beautiful lines....
Wonderful writing. Love is there in every word of this poem.
