I think that I must have started making up stories in my head before I even learned how to read. My mom says that my ability to come up with such fantastic stories on a whim made it hard to get mad at me with a straight face. Once, when asked, I reportedly told her that the purple mermaid and a pirate had worked together to steal the last slice of cake without even batting an eyelash. All this despite the fact that I had icing smeared all over me.
